Built environment PR

The built environment sector is evolving and innovating at a rate we have not witnessed before – in fact it feels like not a week goes by without another major announcement from Glenigan – making built environment PR one of our favourite industries to work in here at Refresh.

From architects, contractors and specifiers to tradespeople

We often get asked to reach one of two key audiences – either architects, contractors and specifiers or the trades. While we know architects, contractors and specifiers are hard-to-reach, busy people, we also have tried and tested methods of engaging with this unique group, and for this reason have built a fantastic contact base.

We know that communicating to tradespeople, who spend long hours on their own and (after the day job is complete), often go home to more paperwork and admin, is equally challenging but very different. Indeed, each sector within the construction industry has its own channels of communication to the trades.

We’ve represented a diverse mix of clients

We also run campaigns which generate true engagement with fabricators, welders, and merchants. We have seen particular success with campaigns for building products manufacturers, however our credentials stretch from student accommodation developers and drainage engineers through to tool manufacturers and merchants – and everything in between. Our list of credentials in construction and built environment really does stretch on and on.

Social housing providers

While we like to work together on a long-term basis, with the mergers and acquisitions taking place in the social housing sector, sometimes the best public relations campaigns lead to the organisation being sold on. We have worked with several social housing providers to deliver proactive and reactive communications, and understand the sector well.

We believe our success comes from a deep understanding of the supply chain, and the personalities within it. It also comes from our desire to do things a bit differently: we will challenge ourselves and our clients to inject creativity and unique aspects into every built environment PR campaign we produce for the sector.

Our record at the Construction Marketing Awards speaks for itself. Over recent years we have won numerous accolades including Best Small Agency, Best use of Press and PR, Best Campaign £25k-£50k and Best Campaign Under £25k. Due to a strong track record across a number of years, we are placed in the CMA’s top 5 construction agencies within the UK.

To add another string to our bow, Refresh also owns and runs the Heating Installer Awards, an annual campaign which searches the breadth of the UK to find the best plumbers and heating installers. Find out more about the awards here.

All this demonstrates that no matter what type of business approaches us, the team will develop campaigns which cut through the noise to produce a strong call to action and deliver tangible results. Contact us here to start the conversation.
